MOHALI: Father's love for another woman made two sons hate him. So much so that it instigated them to kill him.
This is the finding of the police team probing the murder of Sajjan Singh, landlord at Nayagaon whose body was found on Friday. He was murdered by his two sons who connived with their cousin, and later dumped the body in a choe.
Although police are trying to keep the details under wraps, a senior police officer confirmed that they had cracked the case within a day, and all the accused would be produced before media on Sunday.
Sources said Sajjan had a verbal duel with both of his sons, 25-year-old Harinder Singh and 22-year-old Rajinder Singh, on Thursday. Sajjan was allegedly involved with a woman and used to visit her often, much to the chagrin of the family. This led to frequent fights within the family.

On Thursday, both his sons along with their cousin plotted the murder. When Sajjan was about to leave the house to visit his paramour, all three accused beat him severely with an iron rod and inflicted injuries on his head. He died on the spot.
Later, the accused dumped his body in a choe outside the village. Wife of the deceased was not home at the time of the incident and, therefore, was not aware of the murder, added sources.
The accused created evidence to misguide police and make them believe that Sajjan was murdered when he left home soon after getting a call from his paramour.
Sources said police got suspicious when they saw the floor in the house was cleaned with acid to remove bloodstains. There were blood marks under an almirah which made the cops believe that the murder occurred in the house.
